I guess this post is a little premature, but this is one of the serviettes from the New Year's bash I was at. Hope you had a great evening!

Our second Disney night (and Stacey STILL wasn't happy with the choice of film! Although I could tell she secretly enjoyed it).

Monday, December 29, 2008

Went to see Wicked tonight, and it was pretty good. Not one of my favourites, but the singing from Kerry Ellis was amazing.

Sending out a few invitations to the new Gospel Choir... Let's hope some people come!

Christmas Cake. I think I love you.

Friday, December 26, 2008

Anna bravely takes on Paul on Guitar Hero... (He's like, amazing).

Thursday, December 25, 2008

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!! Hope you've had a great day! This is my cousin Amy with her new guitar. She doesn't really play it yet, but she holds it very well, and is wearing her hat at a very jaunty, rockstar-like angle, don't you think?

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Standing on the doorstep with my Nanna, singing Silent Night, as the young people from The Salvation Army went carol singing.

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

My first McDonalds since 1st September. And it was all I'd hoped for - well, almost. I'd somehow managed to order a burger with crisps in it.

Monday, December 22, 2008

I used to love going to Woolworths as a kid - and to go in there today and see signs saying 'Shelves and fittings also for sale'... It's sad...

Sunday, December 21, 2008

Waiting for people to come to the corps carol service (don't worry, they did).

Saturday, December 20, 2008

Carolling Part 4 (I like this one too).

Friday, December 19, 2008

The first time I'd seen Oscar in MONTHS. And every time I made this stupid noise, he laughed uncontrollably! (As did I!)

Carolling Part 3.

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Carolling Part 2 (And a lovely photo, I think!)

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Making the most of being in LONDON, BABY! A day of shopping and enjoying all things London. Katie wanted her photo taken in front of this - what she thought was 'nearly invisible' - snowman on Carnaby Street. I thought it was quite visible.

Monday, December 15, 2008

Carolling Part 1 (And I had my first mince pie of the season - at the same place where I had it last year [a somewhat similar photo!])

Sunday, December 14, 2008

Came home to see my parents had had a beautiful picture from their trip to the Faroes made into a canvas.

Saturday, December 13, 2008

London, baby!

Friday, December 12, 2008

Some of the gang from the Salvation Army at the fortnightly sports night. A LOT of fun and a great way to spend my last night in the Faroes!

Thursday, December 11, 2008

A view of the road into the heart of Tórshavn.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

The SMS centre all Christmasised. This is also where I stood doing my collecting.

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

I just took a photo of this because I thought it was picturesque... (Memo to self to find out why the flag was half-mast. It may also be necessary to find out the Faroese term for 'half-mast'.)

UPDATE: An MP had died and 'í hálvari stong'.

Monday, December 8, 2008

Christmas trees!

Sunday, December 7, 2008

I had to lead my first Salvation Army meeting today... in Faroese!

Saturday, December 6, 2008

I'm going to miss my Saturday nights of watching a Swedish crime film (Mankell's Wallander - excellent!) and eating Haribo eggs...

Friday, December 5, 2008

Collecting in the shopping centre. I enjoyed it, but it was a little intimidating doing it all in Faroese!

Thursday, December 4, 2008

I've FINALLY found the machine to recycle my bottles! In the Faroes you pay a little extra for fizzy drinks, but get the money back when you take the bottles back. Annoyingly I hadn't been able to find the machine for ages - but today I did. And we're not talking pennies - I made £15 today!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

I'd been waiting for the park to be snow-covered - and today it was!

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

This is just a view I love, with the boats in the background.

Monday, December 1, 2008

The little Christmas village they've built in front of Parliament (which could actually be a real Faroese village, but I don't think it is).
