Gladiators is coming back!!!

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

I tried to order just a six-inch sub, I really did! (And how does an olive always get in there?)

Tuesday, January 29, 2008

And I came up with some of my own: John Mansion-House (Mitchinson), Katie Balham (or Katie Acton) (Allen), Matt Whitechapel (or Matt White City - what a thought...) (White), Andy Tower Hill (or Andy Dollis Hill) (Hill), Caroline Holborn (Holman), Anna Alperton (Achermann), Graeme Harrow (Howell), Chris Hoxton (Hinton), Stacey Edgware (Edwards)... Got any others? (I knew I was running out when the next best I could think of was Glyn Heathrow (Harries)...)

Where did this cold weather suddenly come from?

So you can smoke in the station, right?

It turns out these shoes have no grip. Whatsoever.

Monday, January 21, 2008

Today was a big day for the Mitchinson family for several reasons. It involved a lot of Waiting.

This photo was taken at Southchurch Corps, but these posters are found at Salvation Army churches up and down the country. The poster on the right shows a photo that everyone says looks like me. The poster in the middle shows me as a 14-year-old being enrolled as a Salvation Army soldier. Check it out next time you see it! See if you can find me... (A bit like 'Where's Wally?' but cooler).

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Today marked the start of the Wind Band at the corps (Salvation Army church). This is my first real failure in the Project - this is a picture of an oboe reed which was supposed to be arty, and it looked quite good on the camera. However it's dark and blurry on here. I didn't take any other photos, so this will have to do!

What to make with the Barney play-dough from Stacey's birthday party party bag (not a typo). What to make, what to make.

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

My new jeans have a zip on the pocket! Note to self: Do not put money in said pocket. (I wasn't sure whether this photo was a little too risque for my blog, but I went with it.)

Monday, January 14, 2008

Surreal. My brother sitting up in the early hours colouring in a sponge colouring pad with special bathtime crayons from the pass-the-parcel at Stacey's birthday party.

Sunday, January 13, 2008

I almost forgot to take a photo today. Fifteen minutes before midnight struck, I got home and managed it. I think I look like a crazy scientist here, but you can decide for yourselves.

Driving in my car. For the record, I'd just like to point out that of course I'm not actually driving, as that would be dangerous. I am sitting in my car. But that didn't sound as good, so I went with 'driving in my car' (see first sentence).

Friday, January 11, 2008

The day of my big presentation. This is my new Academic Jumper.

Thursday, January 10, 2008

This film poster at the front of Aldgate Station has been there for over a year now, so I thought it deserved a photo (You'll be disappointed if you've been waiting until February 1 for the advance screenings).

Wednesday, January 9, 2008

Platform Nine and Three Quarters at Kings Cross Station - it's really there.

Tuesday, January 8, 2008

I thought the camera that was taking all the pictures deserved a slice of the action too.

Monday, January 7, 2008

It's gone... Now the health-kick starts for real!

Sunday, January 6, 2008

I had one of those days when I looked in the mirror and was freaked out by what I saw...

Saturday, January 5, 2008

Our Christmas Cake supply's getting dangerously low...

Friday, January 4, 2008

Who's this joker?

Thursday, January 3, 2008

Cold, ill, sitting in a warm house with a hat and gloves, yet still studying. What a trooper.

Wednesday, January 2, 2008

That's a lot of books... The British Library, St Pancras (I realise this blog is becoming a bit of a King's Cross Tourist Website, but that's where I'm spending rather a lot of time at the moment!)

John in 2008 - older and wiser.
